WANTED:  Pontoons for a Crafstman lawnmower. NO MORE RAIN. PLEASE.

I need the pontoons to put on my lawnmower so I can get all of my grass cut. I've tried cutting and succeeded (almost) at least three times. There are still areas in my backyard that are too wet to mow. I don't have any puddles or standing water but the ground is mushy. My neighbors on all the sides of my yard have standing water in their yards. I watch the ducks come in for a landing on a daily basis.

I could cut it but the mower would leave ruts and tracks in the lawn and I'm not looking to tear my yard up. I'll just bypass that area and wait for it to dry out. Maybe it will get like a jungle in there then I will need a bush wacker to get it cut down. OKAY. I exaggerated a little. It won't get THAT tall. But I'm sure you can sense my frustration.

It's like a vicious cycle. It rains. The grass grows. I cut it. It rains. The grass grows. I cut it.

Maybe if the rain would let up for  a little while, the growing would slow down and I wouldn't have to cut as much. Don't get me wrong. I love how green my grass is right now. I just wish it would dry up a little so that I can finish cutting it.

And on top of it all, the weatherman is forecasting MORE RAIN for the Metro Detroit area over the next seven days.

Good morning Graig. Kinda nice seeing anything green after our winters. lol. I feel your pain about wet lawns. Mine gets about half a foot before I can get through it. Maybe we should rent a goat (that can swim).

Craig - I hear ya! We've had nothing but rain for the past 2 1/2 weeks! Yesterday I had a big party for my step-son's graduation and we had to move it inside after setting up tables, balloons, ect - so tired of this weather!

Gary, I'll trade you a weeks worth of rain for a weeks worth of sunshine and 85*.  Do we have a deal?

Randy, I do appreciate the green over the white and browns of winter. Compared to people living along the Mississippi river, I suppose I shouldn't complain.

Richard, I can offer you the same trade I offered Gary. Then I can get rid of two weeks of rain and have two weeks of great weather.

Kristine, at least you didn't let it rain on your parade and cancel it all together. I hope the party was a success. Contact Gary and Richard above.   LOL

Tom, I have the tools and the space in my yard to build it. If the rain continues, it will float away just fine.

Scott, please send your son to my house at ****......

Virginia, I don't mind the chore. My wife and I will occasionally take turns cutting the grass. It's an opportunity to get some exercise and a little tanning at the same time.

Richard, THANK YOU for the kind words. I remember when I first started here in Active Rain. I wasn't shunned as the new kid. I was treated like the new kid that everyone wanted to get to know better. I received a lot of support, encouragement and educational tips from members that I can now call "friends". I enjoy giving this back to any new members that catch my eye.

YOU stood out when you joined AR six months ago and you continue to stand out with your passion for getting people involved, your humor and your willingness to share what you know. These actions are consistent with the Active Rain philosophy and it keeps this community vibrant and a pleasure to be a part of.

I see you are about to join the milestone club. I will be looking for your celebratory post.
