We TOLD You Localism Works!! An Outside Blog Success Story!
A few days ago we blogged Why You Might Want to Get An Outside Blog. We've suspected for some time that there was an underserved (or maybe even UNserved) niche in our market area for patio homes. Part of the issue is that our MLS gives no clear way to readily find them. Sometimes they're entered as Single Family Homes, sometimes Condominiums. The other difficulty is every builder seems to call them something different: patio, club, garden, lifestyle, villa....you get the idea!
But if the buyer is looking for a free standing home that has condo type care (e.g. NEVER shovel snow or cut grass), it's a bit problematic to find that home for them, ESPECIALLY if the agents can't find them either!
So we decided to launch an Outside Blog: Warren County Patio Homes dedicated to just this niche. We haven't made many posts to the site yet, but enough information to at least establish some preliminary information on patio homes and some of the local communities hosting them. Google has found us, and we've got four of the top five page 1 spots already.
And the results are ALREADY in! Yesterday we got a call from a buyer who found our new blog site, and wants us to help them find a patio home!! So a few weeks of VERY targeted marketing gave us our first direct consumer contact....and not just a "I'd like some more information", but a "Help me buy a new place" contact! So now all we have to do is find that JUST Right patio home for them! :)
So find your local niche and hit it hard! The consumers ARE out there, give them what they're looking for!
