Wonder Why?

I have read plenty of bloggs lately and wonder why AR has these page verifications and the funny names they come up with. You answer the blog and go down to the bottom and I have many times looked at the word and type it so wrong. mangosten, palopalo, frutberry, calao-calao, I am close. I like when typing to hit each key and go on. They really tax the brain by misspeeling some words. I then do it in my blog??? I guess when I get to the fify thouand poins it wil not mater.

Gary, the verifications at the bottom are to help drive away serial website spammers that are computer generated. It establishes the publisher of the comment as a "real" person. It can be quite challenging to type in some of those words - especially early in the morning- but think about what would happen to this medium if we didn't have them.

You had me going that you were actually making those mistakes. I thought this guy doesn't know about spell check!

We had a problem were some of the spammers were also using autofill when there was only a handfull of fruit names to choose from. I think these tougher words were chosen to shut them down from spamming through Active Rain.
