Attracting clients and keeping them is not easy in a world of big box companies who give the impression that they can do things smaller more personal companies cannot. I am small in a small state and even after twenty three years in the business and in my seventh year of my own company, eDrake, it is challenging to compete. Here are some thoughts for those who may want some suggestions for what it is worth:
1) Think like you own your business because whether the broker or not you do
2) Always follow up with clients possible clients and friends with a personal note
3) Forget 110% mentality that does not exist, no one has more than 100%, lose the pressure of trying to give what you can't - you'll pull a muscle
3) Be able to explain your business self in less than one minute
4) Understand how the money works that is what matters most to any client
5) Don't interrupt when people talk - one learns more when listening
6) Figure out the hours you want to work and then double it if you don't produce no one is going to pay you at the end of the week
7) Always tell people what you do for business
