A Year of Growing Rich: Sell to Yourself

"What you say and how you say it are extremely important. Others judge us by the way we speak, our vocabulary, and how we deliver our ideas and thoughts. But how we appear, not what we say, often has an equal or greater impression on others -- and on ourselves", says Hill.
It almost seems that the words "and on ourselves" should be in bold." In a business like real estate, we are all selling our services (ourselves) to potential clients. And If we are not sold on the benefits we offer, it becomes impossible to sell to someone else.
The first step in selling, then, must be to sell to yourself. You must believe in yourself. Some of the time you may need to do a little extra to build up your ego.
Hill says,"One of the most effective methods for boosting your ego -- and everyone needs to have his or her ego boosted -- is to select some person as a 'pacesetter' whose achievements you would like to equal or exceed. Use that person as a benchmark against which to measure your own accomplishments."
Alliances and surroundings are very important. If you're in a relationship, support of the other person is extremely important. Support from colleagues and business associates also helps. "Make sure the people around you encourage you and lift you up instead of depressing you and dragging you down," says Hill.
Hill concludes saying, "If you feel good about yourself, it is apparent to everyone you meet. And, remember, the very next person you meet may be the one who can give you a tremendous boost up the ladder to success".
