Pieces of the Puzzle- Marketing
To be quite honest, I had forgotten all about it. Not in a total-amnesia-type sense, more in an "oh-yeah-THAT-thing" kind of way.
My good friend Amber is very passionate about her dogs and is active in volunteering with Lifeline Puppy Rescue. Lifeline is a no-kill puppy rescue located in Adams County, and has been in operation since 1993. Both of the dogs that I have had were Lifeline puppies, and nearly all of my friends who have adopted dogs have done so from Lifeline.
Daisy- My Lifeline Puppy!
Lifeline was holding a fundraiser/golf tournament and Amber sent out a notice that they were looking for sponsors. For various reasons, I was unable to play in the tournament, but I jumped at the chance to sponsor a golf hole. I looked at it as another piece of my locally-focused marketing puzzle.
This was several months ago, so I wasn't thinking about the tournament as I prepared for my Sunday afternoon showings. My husband and daughter, however, were off to play golf at Buffalo Run while mommy was working.
Then I got a text from my husband. It was a photo text:
That's how marketing should work. It gets the word out there when you aren't there. I had forgotten that Sunday was the day of the golf tournament, but my sponsorship was there to speak for me.
No matter what business you are in, marketing is part of your job. Happy Monday, everyone!
