Our friends in Florida have welcomed their first grand child into our world this May. As I did for the 'father' of this child, I made an outfit for his daughter---Nora Faith.
This is an European Style pattern; forgot how tricky some of those can be.
The sizes are: 6 , 1, & 2 American patterns use mo. or yrs or combinations of such as : 6-9 mo, 12 mo, 18 mo. etc/
This is what I think is an 18 mo to 24 mo size, but after my last eye-lazer-surgery, I gave away all my materials, trims,& patterns so did not have any to compare these last 2 days.
I had kept this material for a special situation -the finished outfit includes some 'antique lace & trims'.
Below are some other close up shots to share:
Coat material with embossed pattern; dress is Indian eyelet material; here antique lace trim on coat can be seen better.
This is the last product of many years of sewing & designing a personal line-of-clothing crossing the areas of Wedding party, Baptism, Communion, Prom, fancy-dress for children & women.
Made some suits for Sal, but too much fitting involved to design / produce a Line for Men. Besides we are blessed to have three Tailors within a 25 mile radius who are masters in Men's Suits.
Just a break from the budget-battle here in Michigan, along with the pain of change that budgets bring.
More on that later.
Today is to share the fun of a new baby; the Pinkness of early outfits for little princesses; the final design from my New Traditions Line [ my Brand when producing outfits ].
Aren't Babies great; for those who have boys--did make some fun outfits for little men; the Baptismal Outfit on the right was based on the " early News-boy pants and Hat". Did make him White tie & Tails-Coat,too.
Got loads of smiles and some genuine laughs when this was added to the line.
[the first Female is a coat & dress; this material is Swedish Eyelet & lace; This is "The Little Man" the "Tails"-coat
can be used for both.
Had so much fun sharing my talent of design & sewing; Now it is time to move on.
It was a good time.
Wow! These are gorgeous and such amazing talent too. I really enjoy looking at all of them. Thanks!
They ARE beautiful. You certainly do have talent... thanks for sharing with us!
Quite an outfit! The family will treasure your handiwork. Almost too nice to use.
Blooming for you!
You are a multi talented woman! Barb those are simply gorgeous, you must have the patience of a Saint! I get very frustrated when I sew!
Lizette...it was a great way to express designing, and my love of fabric in producing a usable outfit.
No more as I said, but fond memories. sometimes, I felt that I had to watch my explosions of bad words when working on the Baptismal, Christening or Communions outfits! These are / were just a smattering of fun items.
Thanks for your comment. Have a great week.

Peggy...my Mother was the highly trained pianist & organist; this is my side of the talent given to members of the family. I loved / love to design, produce, & always styled my dolls outfits much to the dismay of my older sister & Mom. This way , it was a safe manner in which to cut fabric. LOL
Thanks for your comment. Have a great week.
Barb
Roy...aren't you nice; we will see IF the Mother is content with the 'special washing-care' instructions as that includes the use of an iron. If not, then the paternal Grandma will be doing that.
Thanks for your comment. Have a great week.

Laura...as per my comment on your posting, the only Saint around here is St. Joseph AND I can't find him. I think that it is the same as everyone else--when you love what you are doing--it is NOT work; although I have been known to utter some bad, bad words during the processes over the years.
Now that sewing is off my list of things I can do--I am going to take up reteaching myself the keyboard / piano. If you hear a very loud clap of thunder in the next months--fear not, that will be my Mom 'telling me that I did that incorrectly' . Well, loads of openings for that to happen as it has been years since I have played.
Thanks for your comment Have a great week.

Barb, first off how we think alike today! I posted my mom and grandma talents. However, I never knew you were so talented...these are beautiful! And I do appreciate the detail, as I have purchased things like this in Italy when I had infants. You are an amazing woman who surprises me all the time.
Ellen...funny you should mention Italy; tried to purchase material from Italy, but due to the European differences in measurements could not find any other than 2 choices that was purchased from a local-sorta' shop who could purchase in the amounts required. Used some of it for one Baptismal Gown and the other for a Communion dress; both of those were sold to clients who were Italian.
Had an opportunity to "almost" make a dress [like the long one in the photo] for a grandmother of a Marianist family in Lebanon--but before we could conclude the process, the Lebanon factions attacked the Christians and the family Baptized their infant quickly. Never heard from the grandparents so so not know the end result for their family. think of them during these trying days.
We are in the throes of a severe storm watch until 10 pm, so it is iffy being online, but must read your post, if not today then tomorrow when our weather is to be clear.
Sal got so much fun out of the White Tie & Tails outfit for the Boy 9-12 mo. I even bought shiny Black patent shoes [usually, included the typical White decorative shoes with each outfit--but this one called out Black patent leather. It was fun; it took numerous patterns & some original designs of my own--but I smile as I think of it even today.
Thanks for your comment. have a great week.

Barb, (I'm assuming Sal didn't make those) my wife has never learned to sew but lately she's been trying to put together a little house on the prairie style dress for our second grader. She has a field trip and needs to dress like the time period. I'm pretty happy that my mother in law remembers how to make this stuff.
Eric...Sal does/ did not do the sewing, but given the chance he does tell everyone that he DOES. Lots of fun around here. Best wishes to your wife, those dresses can be fun to make. Will be glad to give her some email tips if she wants or her Mom can step in to smooth the edges of deadlines. Best wishes for a fun dress making process.
thanks for your comment. have a great week.
