Take a look at this picture.... what are you doing today? Is it meaningful? Is there something you can do to make it better - not just an ordinary day?

Waimoku Falls

I took this picture in Maui at Waimoku Falls. This picture only shows you part of the falls. It is around 400 feet high and just tumbles off the cliff. It is located in Haleakala National Park. (pronounced hall-e-ah-ka-la)

You have to drive the road to Hana on the eastern side of Maui. Then you have to hike about 2 miles up hill through the most beautiful area - filled with rain forest, waterfalls and a dense bamboo forest. I went to Maui about a month ago and this was one of the highlights of the trip.

This is certainly an insprirational spot and if you can get there today - go for it! But if you can't get there today, there is still something you can do to make today stand out.

Great Picture....I also took the road to Hana....fun for the passenger sometimes tiring for the driver. Only reason the drive is worth it is hikes and waterfalls such as this one.

Hi Ryan - The road to Hana is quite the experience. I was a passenger...and it scared me to death on many occasions. I agree - this hike at the end and the black sand beach at Waianapanapa State Park made it worth the drive for me.

Mario - It certainly is a full day and exhausting. We stayed North of Lahaina, so it took all day....
