What do you plant to grow seedless watermelons? and other things to ponder.

Why does your dog tilt its head when you talk to it?

Why do you park on driveways and drive on parkways?

Where do all the missing pens go?

Why is yawning contagious?

Why do roosters crow in the morning?

Why doesn't a 2 x 4 measure 2 x 4 inches?

What is the purpose of the ball on top of the flag pole?

Why do dogs walk in circles before they lay down?

Why are there 18 holes on a golf course?

Just a few things for you to think about for a while.  This post was inspired by my VERY seeded watermelon I had today.

I have a question.  How do you have the patience to eat a watermelon with all those seeds?

I wish I could think of a clever question to add to your list, but I'm coming up empty, Tammy!

Hi folks.  I am addressing all questions... in one answer tonight.  (it was a long day, but that post will have to come later).

Donald cut up and de-seeded the watermelon for me. (I know, I'm a lucky girl)  And seedless watermelons are just not mature when picked... if they leave them on the vine longer they also grow black seeds for planting....

And is my photo too agressive?

"Why do dogs walk in circles before they lay down?"

ROTFL

When you figure that out, let me know.  On another note, before I knew what the picture was I thought it was disgusting.  Not appealing in the least and I love watermelon.

Tammy,

Very entertaining post, I had to read it out loud and we both laughed about the questions.  Why indeed to the dogs have to turn in circles before they lay down?  Thanks.

Never though about it before and now you've got me thinking......yeah, why?!  My favorite "Why do you park on driveways and drive on parkways: - love a good oxymoron!

Things that make you say, "Hmmm".  I really don't get the whole 2 x 4 thing.  That just doesn't make sense!

Oh Donne- my job here is done... I got your laughing man to fall down. LOL

And I believe Dogs walk in the circle to spread their scent.... I have seen mama dogs do it and then babies who do not even eyes open yet can then find mom and get milk even if they have waundered feet away.  :)

Now the driveways and parkways.... my husband really wants an answer to that one and well.... there is none, unless you accept my "Because a man named them" theory.

the 2 x 4s.... was and still is the actual measurement of rough cut lumber, but when cut down to have smooth edges which the construction industry began to demand decades ago it got smaller.  The rough cut equipment therefore did not have to be replaced.

The watermelon looks like an internal organ of some kind or another.  I do think the ball on the top of the flag pole makes it so that when raising the flag, it has a stop.  Other than that . . . who the hell knows?

Tammy ~ The missing pens end up under the car seat and the bottom of my purses in the closet.  As I was cleaning my car out Sunday I found three pens under my seat.  Your Why post is very thought provoking.

I actually know the answers to a couple of those but only because I've spent a little time reading silly factoids online.  I'm a nut that way.  Thanks for reminding me of my love of pursuing little nuggets of knowledge.
