Internet Explorer Nine...Just not impressed

I reblogged Bob's post for one simple reason. The more people that read the post will STAY AWAY from IE9.

Bob was being too kind. So as to be clear, IE9 is a piece of bug ridden "stuff" which will not work properly on the most basic of functions.

Stay away. Steer clear. Run away!

Like most Windows users I was sent a Microsoft upgrade a few days ago which included Internet Explorer Nine. To be exact, Version 9.0.8112.16421.

I'm simply not impressed. Most of the options are now hidden in smaller-than-normal icons, or off on some pull down menu you can't find hiding on the far right side of the screen. Our MLS website, NTREIS.net and my personal websites are all rendering with small glitches now when they worked perfectly in version 8.

Also sites which launch in new window often come up blank. I have to close the new window and launch again, often several times before it works.

I'm all for change that makes sense and change that improves the product but IE9 really doesn't seem to do either. Were they trying to have a new release simply because FireFox did? I don't know but if you haven't upgraded yet, please consider bypassing this one until they get it all ironed out.

Comments welcome.

Some things require IE, but I otherwise avoid it at all costs.

I agree.  A lot of the programs are not compatable with ie9, especiallly our MLS tools.
