I Saw the Home Alone House Today in Winnetka

Today, the Home Alone house, at 671 Lincoln St. in Winnetka, IL,  was open for
Home Alone Homebrokers to preview - a business card was required to insure that only licensed real estate agents were viewing the home.

The home was built in 1921 and is gracious, comfortable, and . . . well, famous.   But other than a few Home Alone posters, it feels like all well-kept homes built in that era.  Beautiful moldings, large rooms, high ceilings and enough updates to feel like you could move right in.

The dining room is enormous (17 x 15), the family room is off the thoroughly modern kitchen but the real delight is the lovely screened porch that overlooks a very deep and lush backyard (lot size:  114 x 206 or about one-half acre.)

There are three bedrooms on the second floor and a fourth bedroom on the third floor with a full bath.  The master has two tandem rooms - one was possibly a porch at one time and is now a sunny retreat, and the other room has plenty of room for seating, a television, and features a fireplace.

This is a really beautiful home on a beautiful street - listed with Coldwell Banker Highland Park.

My kids LOVE Home Alone and I LOVE the house!  I saw that it was on the market not too long ago.  How cool that you got to check it out in person.  Bet the street is gorgeous too.  I'm jealous!

This tour had to be fun.  You saw a piece of Hollywood history, Margaret.  As Kevin would say ...  "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"!

Margaret, How about that price tag? A cool $2.4 million to live in a piece of Hollywood history. What do you think? Would it be worth it?

Allan - It is a gorgeous street near downtown Winnetka and the train

Lisa - it's the one!

Gene - a little Hollywood history right here in Winnetka

Ilyce - it's actually priced very well - but, sure the background of the house will affect the price
