There's More Than One Way to Get Around on the North Carolina Coast.  In fact, there are many ways to travel without spending a dime on Gasoline!  Imagine the possibilities.....

If you don't have your own, You can rent a Kayak or a Surfboard at WaterSports Outfitters in Indian Beach, NC. Sailing is my favorite form of travel, but If you don't want to be the captain of your own boat, you can always take one of the many boat tours available on the NC Coast.  Maybe you would prefer to fly...if so, give Hang Gliding or even parasailing a chance.  If you'd rather saddle up and take a sunset tour by horseback, head on over to the Outer Banks Riding Stables in Cedar Island.  Want to peddle your way, rent a bicycle at Crystal Coast Bicycles on the Atlantic Beach Causeway.  Ahhhhh....The possibilities are endless on the NC Coast!

Sounds like you have some fun ideas. If I were not such a chicken, I might try them out on my next trip back to Pittsburgh! BTW... I love taking the route through the Outer Banks. We do it every few years. Much more interesting than the interstate.
