Brian Buffini Success Seminar

When people ask me what I do for Terri my answer at this time is that I am strengthening the foundation of her business so I can help it grow. This is always a true and acceptable answer, but what does it mean? I've worked for Terri for a year and a half, but until last month that was only at a few hours per week. For almost the past two months I have been working with her full-time.

I think I've had a pretty good start. I've set up a system so we can track leads, conversions, sales, expenses, etc… (although it still needs a lot of work to be super efficient). I've edited her website to make it more user-friendly and less bulky. I've significantly increased her social media presence using Facebook, Twitter, Wordpress, and my own presence on Active Rain. I've started making connections with businesses and neighbors. And I have attended countless seminars, webinars, and classes.

For the year 2011 business is picking up. However, I'm still terrified that I won't achieve the momentum we need for this to last in the long run. Which brings me to the seminar I went to this morning. It was the Brian Buffini Success Seminar. I've heard a lot about Buffini in the past two months, so I was eager to see what he is all about. One of the first things he said immediately set my mind to ease, for the moment…

"When opportunity comes it never comes with good feelings."
-Brian Buffini

RiskTruer words are rarely spoken. Every time one takes a risk in life, new home, new spouse, new car, new pet, new job, there is always a level of uncertainty and fear. It's a well known fact that if we don't face our fears we may end up perfect, but to be perfect we can't get very far in life.

"Perfect is never doing anything wrong - which means never doing anything at all."
-Stephen Manes, Be a Perfect Person in Just Three Days!

Plus, I've learned the more fears you face and overcome the easier it is to deal with when a new one pops up.

I started this post thinking I would give you a review of the seminar and tell you what I'm trying to prioritize, but now I see that rather than talking (blogging) about them I need to just pick something and go with it. This is why there are so many catch phrases that say the same thing,

"Just do it." -Nike

"Get'er done." -Larry the Cable Guy

"Show me the money!" -Jerry Maguire
