The Tamale Truck has been doing business on FM 2351 for 35 years. They have been in their current location just west of Beamer Road for the last 10 years. Every day at lunch and dinner you will see a long line of customers waiting their turn to purchase tamales from the Tamale Truck. Some people stop by to pick up enough for lunch, and others stop by to stock up. I like to do both...pick up hot tamales for lunch or dinner, and also some extras for the fridge or freezer.
There is nothing fancy about the Tamale Truck. It's just a large white truck with a serving kitchen in the back and a walk-up window where you can place your order. There are no tables or seating areas on the gravely lot where the truck is parked, and there definitely is no pretty landscaping. But that doesn't stop the customers from lining up every day!
The Tamale Truck has always been owned and run by the same family. The owner's son, Allen, is there many days, serving up spicy or mild pork tamales, chicken tamales, chips and queso dip. You can get your tamales hot or frozen. If you get them hot, be sure to get a side of queso for dipping! Ummm, ummm good!
