Lagoon: Utah's version of Disneyland.  OK, I will have to admit it has taken me almost 9 years to go to Lagoon.

For anyone not familiar with Lagoon, it is an amusement park that features roller coasters, a water park and all different levels of rides for the entire family.  It is located in Farmington, Utah which is about 40 minutes from where we live in Sandy, Utah.  The park is open to different venues, events, (my daughters dance team, Studio 56 dance has had a competition there before) school events and they even have a campground for those who love to camp.  During the fall season they offer Frightmares as a Halloween type treat. Lagoon has over 45 rides to choose from, truly something for everyone!

So back to why I went: The kids' school (grades 6-8) had a Lagoon day and needed drivers and I needed volunteer hours. Next thing I know I'm signed up for lagoon day... I am so very very grateful that I went.  It was great hanging out with the other parents and teachers.  The kids were shocked to see all of us parents having "fun" and riding the rides.  Over and over again they would ask did you ride Wicked? Yep, "really????"  and so on about all the "scarier" roller coaster rides.

I LOVED IT!  OK so deep down inside I absolutley love the rush of a roller coaster ride.  I am older now and the wood roller coaster beat me up so I do shy away from them.  I don't care for the ones that leave you feeling like you should have worn a helmet on the ride, but besides that I am game for about any ride.

So if you are heading this way and are looking for something to do in Utah, I would put Lagoon on my list of to-do's for sure!

Sounds like a great park! I recently went to Kings Dominion here in Richmond and went on a wooden roller coaster...it must be old age as I felt sick as a dog. I used to LOVE roller coasters. But, it was worth it to see the look on my son's face!

Glad you had a great time! (And got in those hours!)

Every time we come down to Utah my kids always beg us to go there, we have yet to stop. Maybe this next year when we go to visit my brother-in-law again.

@shannon: thanks it is a great park, now that I've gone :)  enjoy your holiday weekend!!! and thank you for commenting on my post

@Todd: You'll have to take them if you pass thru when its open.  From what everyone has told me the best time to go is around 4ish  on a Tuesday - thursday (all the families with strollers start heading home at that time) and the park pretty becomes a lot more enjoyable with a lot fewer people/shorter lines.  Saturdays are the busiest and Sundays are the slowest.    :)

Have a great Saturday everyone!
