JASON:  You and I are friends, right?  Then why do you keep doing this to me?  Every time I see one of these posts it just frustrates me that you get so much for your money in Austin and quite a bit less for your money here.  These homes in most areas around here are at least $800,000 and up much more depending on the area.  How many more of these must I endure?  Help a friend out and show me some of your overpriced homes.  Thanks buddy.

ADAM - I just keep thinking if I post enough of these, it might entice someone to call me about buying one or two of them.  I will just keep working my way up the ladder for now, at least until I get to the $1 million mark.  I don't know that we really have much that you would consider overpriced, unless you include these:

Are there any tattoo parlors nearby? If so, I'm interested in the one with the pool ;-)

And ditto Adam: I'm tempted to put up a picture of what a 'cool' half mil will buy you in pdx!! [as a point of reference... take a look back at my recent blog and the first house you see is up near $300k at less than 600 Sq.ft and in near crumbling condition]

Jason, your posts of this series have inspired me to try a similar series on my own.  Have you had any success (i.e., calls, e-mails) yet from this series.  It gives a great overview to buyers about what type of homes they can afford in the various price ranges.  And ditto Adam and Jennifer...

Jason, I like this idea for your consumers.  I may have to try something similar here at some point.

OK, I know there is a catch! Employment is horrible, taxes are high, floods are frequent, tornados are common, crime is rampant, your neighbors shoot at you because you're from the wrong coast....east or west, doesn't really matter, cause you're in Texas! Somethings' gotta give......

That house in California is a cool million dollars.....near the beach $2.0 million....looking at the ocean 3.2 million...cmon Crouch....if you tell us how great it is, we'll all end up moving there!

JENNIFER - As a professional real estate broker, I can also assist you in locating the nearest tattoo parlor for your needs.

BRIAN - I haven't been able to track any direct calls or emails to this yet, but I know that the posts are getting hits (I am using Statcounter to watch this).  Feel free to copy this idea.

STEVE - I am glad you liked it.  Please feel free to use this concept on your blog.

BILL - Hmmm...the property taxes are high, but we don't have state income tax.  Employment levels are great, job growth is well above the national average, we do have occasional flooding in low-lying areas, we do have an occasional tornado (although I have lived in Texas my entire life and I have never seen one, nor do I know anyone who has been affected by one), and the crime level is pretty much non-existent in the areas where these homes are located.  How many can I put you down for?  One?  Two?  It really IS a great place to live.

JENNIFER - Only if it would surprise you that I have several of them.  I am totally kidding - I have none as well.  No, I am not really surprised.  I wouldn't have thought that you had any.

Jason- I love these prices! Maybe we can move some of those houses over here? WOW, 4000 square feet for under 500k! Now that is something to sing about!  BTW, I love your link to the referral offer! It is just that most people we know want to spend that money for a house on the beach here! Can I use that idea to create my own referral post? Katerina

Jason- I really like this series of posts from you. I know it is helpful to buyers and sellers in Austin but it is also helpful to me, as a Dallas agent, to get a feel for the Austin market. I have clients who relocate to and from Austin and this helps me understand the Austin market better. Hopefully we can work on a client referral sometime together. Look forward to the next post!

MARIBETH - I am thankful for your nice feedback.  These were written to help both consumers and agents in other markets, so I am happy to hear that it is working.  And yes, I also hope that we can work together on some referrals sometime in the near future.  Thanks so much for your encouragement!
