I am back on another shorter road trip this weekend. This one a family road trip to Dubuque, IA. However we got derailed last night as we were at a stop light in Viroqua, WI and my wife's car stalled.
Thankfully my wife has AAA. It took a while to get a tow out to us because its almost a black hole area for that sort of thing, but they did get out there and we got towed back to Sparta, WI. Now we wait to see what is wrong with her car and when it can be fixed.
We did catch some breaks in this situation. Our hotel in Dubuque let us cancel without a charge and our hotel in Sparta gave us two adjoining rooms for the price of one so we had more room for everyone. The tow service was also friendly and helpful. Hopefully the biggest piece of the puzzle, the repair shop, can take care off us too so we can get back on or way...or at least turn around and go home.
