Speechless Sunday: A Sunday Stroll in Wellington?

This morning as I drove home after meeting clients I had to stop because a turtle was crossing the road, which is rather common.
Wellington Florida Turtles
As I turned the corner there was a second turtle just hanging in the road, slooooooowly making his way to the sidewalk, seeing two turtles in one day is pretty rare.

I then drive another 50 feet and there was a cyclist who was carrying a third turtle back to the side walk. I pulled over and let him know he might have has work cut out for him this morning because I just passed by two other turtles and he said "maybe they're all out for a Sunday morning stroll."

Hopefully all of the Wellington turtles who were out for a Sunday stroll survived.

Michelle - I usually stop my car and move turtles off the road if i can, however, if it's a snapping turtle they won't make it. I'm still holding a grudge from childhood when they ate my ducks.

Michelle - I've never seen turtles around here crossing the road but I've heard about them in the beach communities (Simi Valley is about 30mi from the beach).  Hopefully, that cyclist was able to save a few more turtles along his route.  Have a good holiday weekend Michelle.  :)

Sometimes it takes longer then others to cross the road.

Good luck and success.

Larry - The first time I saw a turtle crossing the road a person stopped their car, got out and proceeded to pick the turtle up, which peed on the guy.  Ever since that episode I've never tried, but my husband and son have.

Donne - I'm sure he did and thankfully the speed limit is 35, so people should be able to see them well in advance.

Lou - One was so quick I barely captured a picture of him while the other one seemed to pose for me.

Kathy - I think they were all headed for morning tea

Don - You would think the lines on the crosswalk would be a hint, nope.

That's cool to see turtles that big out for a stroll. I haven't seen one here in KY for awhile.
