I just finished watching the movie TOO BIG TO FAIL. Most excellent depiction of what took place, what is taking place and just how fragile the financial system of the the whole world is. The movie connects all the obvious dots. All the headlines, the opinions and the facts interwoven into a believable conclusion
SOME PEOPLE WIN..SOME PEOPLE LOSE
First off, there are many Wall Street players that are becoming and have become filthy stinking rich off this whole thing. That is the way it will go and it appears that there is nothing to be done about it.
IT IS WHAT WE SUSPECTED...WE DON'T MATTER
Furthermore, the homeowner or the tax payer is treated like they don't exist in this movie. We are only taking seriously if we all ban together and make a run on the banks. If not, separately we are considered and are treated like collateral damage. Tens of million of people lose their homes...Oh well....
IN WHOM DO YOU TRUST
I couldn't help but have thought along these lines. Nothing is to be trusted. Anything can fail because the monetary system is what holds it all together. It makes you want to consider buying a cabin some where and learn how to hunt and farm...things that wont fail..
THE WORLD DOESNT LIKE WHAT HAPPENED
The contempt from the global community is at work in this movie too. One wonders where all the Saudi money..you know those trillions of dollars that they have...where is it ? Why aren't they investing in America and the movie doesn't even dare to ask that question...
OUR FREINDS WITH THE MONEY...WHERE ARE THEY?
I brought this up before. Should the Saudis try to rescue America financially, I believe that their own families would come under assassination threats. There are groups that want to see America fail and they now know that weapon for weapon strategies or blow for blow doesn't work with our military might.
AMERICA DOES EVERYTHING ...BIG
Where we are weak is in our financial legs...We consume the most in the world, we live high on the hog and if our enemies can shut us down or keep us on the edge mentally, psychologically or financially, they can hurt us...
THE FAILURE FOR US TO HARMONIZE
Take special note of the internal bickering in our own government and the tug of war between the government and the large banking institutions. Our biggest fears as Real Estate professionals are confirmed. No one wants to eat the SHORT SALES losses. Until that is fully resolved, expect less than perfect Real Estate harmony for years to come...
