Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad, at Oak Meadow Park & Vasona Lake Park in Los Gatos, CA...
Looking for some great weekend adventure? Like trains? The kids want to go somewhere new? The train at Oak Meadow Park!
Tickets for this working engine are $2 and the wait is never long. The train travels through Vasona Lake Park on it's journey.
During Christmas, the park is decorated in lights, and you can ride it at night...
The ride follows along a flowing creek, and towards the lake. A side trip is to cross the train tracks and follow the creek as you pick up rocks to let the kids throw them in at a clearing a few yeards down the way.
Sometimes you get greeted by the honking of Canadian Geese that have stopped over for a bite... (and a squirrel too!)
Later in the day, the line can get long, and be prepared for when the train is to fill up with fuel. There is also a carousel that the kids can ride too. There is a snack shack when you get hungry as well.
The park is located at 333 Blossom Hill Road, Los Gatos CA 95032
If you are a resident of the City of Los Gatos, you can park at Oak Meadow for free. But bear in mind, the lot gets full quickly!
