3 Tips to Harness YouTube

Reblogger Allen 2222

Jay has some great advice on his article here about YouTube.

Most importantly: JUST DO IT!!!!

We always "know" that we "need" something else before we start making videos: a better camera, a new hair-do, to lose 20 pounds . . . but just push all of that aside and just DO IT.

The sooner you start, the easier it will get. You will see the benefits, you will tame the learning curve, you will get some good results.

Hop over to Jay's blog and leave him so good words!

Video is the NOW (not the future). Have you noticed that once you see one set of photos, they all start blending together? Video will help that floorplan STAND OUT and allow you some flexibility to showcase the neighborhood.

Here are 3 tips you can use TODAY to get YouTube working for you:

1) JUST DO IT!
Let me share the most important thing about video in today's market. If we can comprehend this one rule, our videos will explode and we will have the freedom to produce! Here it is: Polished, professional, Hollywood videos are OUT! People respond best to custom, raw, REAL, informational/fun videos. Congratulations, you now have permission to get out there and produce that video you've been thinking about.

So "Rule 1b" is to grab your smartphone, flipcam, or whatever and start filming. Do it quick and be REAL with what you produce. The #1 reason why people aren't doing this is because they think they can't do it or it won't be good enough. CONTENT IS KING. Say it quick and give the viewer benefit and you'll be a success.

2) Get you video out there!
For all you RE/MAX people, here is a great link for you to syndicate all your YouTube channels to the main RE/MAX Brand channel for HUGE exposure!

For the rest of you guys, take your video and push it through your social media channels. It's the HOTTEST news ever because you are sharing some INCREDIBLE information with people, right?? Post it to ActiveRain as a blog. Tweet it a couple of times. Ask your Facebook fans and friends to watch it and PASS IT ON.

3) Help the search engines
Do yourself a favor and fill in those empty boxes on YouTube with some well thought out key words. Remember, the machines that will push your video out there are robots. They can't watch your video (yet) so they are only reading the headline, description and other key words. Say what your video is about using words that people may use to search for your topic.

Below are two recent video I've produced. They are both very different in style but it gets the point out there and gets my message out.

How are YOU using video? Post your video links in the comments below so I can see them!
