A day at Carmel Beach with the kids
No matter where you are, as long as there is a beach, a day at the beach is a good day! We took the kidsto Carmel Beach yesterday right after we bought them new bikes for their birthday. One of the twins just started to ride without training wheels and the other is almost there.
Carmel Beach has a scenic trail along the street and above the beach that I thought would be a good place to ride as well as take in the beautiful scenery. Of course, lots of other people had the same idea....the girls enjoyed their ride and were able to manuver thru the joggers, walkers and various dogs along the way.
Then we stumbled upon the 31st annual Sunshine Freestyle Surfabout and stopped to watch the surfers compete. I have never been a surfer or a real fan of surfing but this was exciting to watch and be in the crowd at the beach to cheer on the surfers. Even the girls cheered them on.
So if you find yourself on the Monterey Peninsula be sure to visit Carmel Beach. There is nothing like a nice walk on the beach to refresh your soul!
