Traveling the Back Roads!

Traveling the back roads!

Traffic is always being talked about somewhere in the world.  We love it or hate it...it gets worse every day when new people move to your town.  So what is your solution?

I travel the back roads - yes, I mean back roads.  I have a trusty Mapsco map book of Austin and literally look for another route besides the highways or toll roads.  Even though I know Austin and the surrounding area, there are new subdivisions and roads being built that changes the "lay of the land".

What use to take me 30 minutes can now take me 15 just because a new road has been built that I didn't know about....so to better increase my knowledge base I travel the back roads. I've just gained more info to help when my clients ask if I know about an area, how to get somewhere and made my journey calmer by taking a road less traveled.

Get out of your comfort zone...chose another route today and see more of your immediate world.

I do the same thing! In fact, with less traffic, I am less stressed when I arrive at my destination. With that in mind, why not travel the back roads? Nice post...........

John:  My clients say I get them so 'turned around' and then we pop out at a recognizable area!  So keep traveling the back roads.

Gwynn - love mapsco! Even though I usually use my iPhone, I still get nervous when I don't have my Mapsco in the car.

Traveling the backroads is a great way to get to know so many areas - we just don't see the detail when zipping by on 183!

Allison:  I know Austin but that map book has gotten me around so many detours and out of traffic that I sometimes wonder if I really do know Austin.  Love to travel Balcones and Pecos to Enfield to miss MoPac traffic.

Gwynn, I often drive my 4 x 4 with giant tires as I love the back roads of Oregon. I never know when I will encounter mud. It is not the most glamorous vehicle for showing, I take my VW bug for that, but I love driving the back roads whenever possible. PS - Thanks for stopping by my blog! Good to know you!

Barbara:  You are welcome.  I will now subscribe to your blog as I use to drive my Ford truck off road (didn't have big tired but loved going through low water crossings or mud puddles) and see a kindred spirit in you.  Check out our website www.homeandhearthrealty.com for my RE philosophy.

Gwynn...I've never really thought about traveling the back roads unless I  know of an accident or something slow going on the interstate. Very interesting...may have to give those backroads a try myself.

Aida: Now there's a new piece of info..didn't know traffic was an LA invention!

Kim: I see so many interesting "bits of info" that are conversation starters or homes I've never seen before (usually through the high dollar areas) - live a little and travel the back roads!
