Most of you read my blog know that Memorial Day and other holidays honoring our veterans and active duty military personnel are important to me. Most years on Memorial Day I have made an early morning visit to Arlington Cemetery to pay my respect to all of those who have served including my husband. This year I'm spending the holiday with friends at the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
However even though I"ve changed my location this year it doesn't mean that my thoughts aren't with the families of those who have lost loved ones. As I look out over the Atlantic Ocean I know that those who have given their lives for our freedom are the reason I'm able to spend time time friends in a peaceful location.
Tonight our group plans a small quiet memorial service on the beach to say our thanks. I hope where ever you are that you will also take a moment to remember those who have served and say a special thank you to those who still serve our country.
Cindy.....very nice! I know it will be beautiful there on the beach tonight! Thanks!
Hope you have a great Memorial Day!---Rob
Go Vols!
I hope you are enjoying your vacation. You deserve a break and the team will hold down the fort while you are gone.
Remembered for their sacrafice indeed...they played taps at the beginning of the Indy 500 Race...300,000 people all quiet...quite amazing.
Cindy I know this sacrifice has impacted you immensely. God's peace be with you.

Cindy, hope you enjoy your time away and no matter where we all are or find ourselves this memorial day, our thanks go to all those that have served and continue to serve to make this place a safe one for the rest of us to enjoy.
Cindy - thanks for this beautiful post and for your husband's service. God bless you and keep you.
