Moving On After A Short Sale
The roller coaster ride a short sale brings starts with the first stop:
The events leading to the place where you realize you are in trouble is sometimes met by denial. At that time, you may think that is a temporary problem, a bump on the road and everything should be fine. .. it will take a little time and money and problem solved. . right?
Anger & Irritation:
You can't believe this is happening to you!
So much time and effort creating the perfect nest for your family and now it all seems a wasted effort. . .
You are angry at your loan officer, at your Realtor, at the bank. . and in some cases . . .even at your spouse.
Your self esteem takes a hit after you realize that your home. .your dreams are all vanishing and going away. It is a bitter pill to swallow when you are a proud homeowner. .but you should remember this ... it is not your fault, circumstances happened that now are requiring you to change.
Its the simple things in life that really matters.
The culmination of a short sale is like . . .a marriage ending in a divorce. You have to start again, learn from your mistakes and . . you don't really have no choice. .you simply move on.
Never ever play the blame game with your spouse. I've seen many short sales that ended up in a divorce and their children suffer as consequence of it.
This is an opportunity to a new life for you and your whole family.
Keep it in perspective. .a home is not a house of bricks and mortar. You make your home as happy or sad as you want. . its your choice!
