Just 1 in 4 of the 2.7 million homeowners who sought to participate in the HAMP program. As of December 2010, only about 680,000 homeowners had received permanent modifications of their loans through HAMP. Other applicants either failed to qualify or were disqualified after they were initially accepted into the program according to figures recently released by the Treasury Department.
It is so good that 680,000 households have been helped by this program. Let's hope they can all stay in their homes for many years to come.
