This year, my husband/broker Christopher was asked to speak at the annual Genentech Gives Back Week as a cancer survivor and recipient of one of Genentech's most successful drugs, Avastin. We are always thrilled to meet members of the Genentech team who likely helped save his life, so today we took time away from writing leases and running Foundation Rentals to have the Genentech film crew come to our house and shoot the interview for their private Benefit Concert and Auction at AT&T Park. Proceeds from an on-site silent auction and concert T-shirt and hat sales will benefit local non-profit organizations.
We're thankful every day for Genentech's endeavors - both public and private. Giving back has long been important to the Genentech name as an organization and as individual employees, and they have been committed to using their resources, both financial and human, to contribute to the best interest of patients, the medical profession and the communities in which they work. Genentech Gives Back Week is designed to demonstrate that commitment on a much larger scale.
All employees are invited to participate in Genentech Gives Back as their time and interest allows. The week offers voluntary activities each day that will help Genetech collectively make a difference in our communities.
