Camtown CEF Fun RunLace up your running (and walking shoes) this month and exercise on behalf of Camas school children.  The Camas Educational Foundation’s Fun Run takes you on beautiful trail systems throughout Lacamas Park. Specifically, the trails that wind around scenic Round Lake. The Fun Run is part of the  Parks and Recreation Department’s Camtown Youth Festival at Crown Park on Saturday, June 11th.

The Camas Educational Foundation is a non-profit volunteer group  comprised of teachers, parents and other community members. The CEF’s purpose is to raise money and award grants to support of academic enrichment programs that benefit more than 5,000 local students.  CEF has given over $900,000 to Camas schools over the past eleven years. So far, the monies have been used to enhance reading, math, arts and science programs.

The second annual CEF Fun Run begins with a 10K (6.2 miles) trail run at 8:00am; expect some hills, but the beautiful scenery should help distract you from any huffing and puffing.  And remember, you’re out there for a good cause!

The CEF Fun Run 5K (3.1 miles) will also involve a bit of hill running or walking, but again with beautiful vistas surrounding you, the course should be manageable. That event begins at 9:30 am.

Finally, the CEF's 1k ( .06 mile) Kids run/walk begins at 10:30am at the Doc Harris Stadium.

Your admission fees include a commemorative T-shirt.  The cost is $35 for adults and $12 for students.  Not only will you enjoy a glorious morning of exercise amid our great Northwest scenery, you’ll be helping support the Camas Educational Foundation. And the Camas Education Foundation supports our kids.  See you next Saturday morning at the CEF  Fun Run!
