It's important to make your listings stand out on Craigslist. I see many with just a plain paragraph of words mumbled together. Fortunately there is a solution and you don't have to be a expert in HTML programming to do it.

Here are just some simple HTML tags to enhance your listings.

<h2> - Heading tag- you could use (h1, h2, etc...) This will increase the size of your text

<i> - italicized

<br> - break - Jumps your text to the next line

<p> - paragraph - Starts following text in new paragraph

<font size=4> - Change size of your text

<font Face="New Times Roman"> - Changes the font to whatever you desire

<Li type="circle"> - List items and you can also specify the symbol before your list items such as circle, disc, or square

<b> - Bolds your text

<center> - Centers you text

Remember most tags need and ending tag (i.e. <i> your text </i>), except for ones like <br> and <p>, or you could really make everything look like a disaster

HERE IS AN EXAMPLE BELOW OF THE HTML TEXT ENTERED

<h2>*Beautiful well kept home on 2.75 private mostly wooded acres!</h2><br>
<i>*3 Bedroom 2 Full Baths</i><br>
<font size=4>*Very spacious through-out</font><p>
<FONT FACE="Script MT bold">*Almost new...built in 2004</font><br>
*Enjoy the detached deck and permanent block grill. Great for entertaining! <br>
<Li type="circle"> Nicely painted and decorated
<Li type="circle"> Paved parking area
<Li type="circle"> Separate den off of living room

</b><br><br>

Good tips.  Know a little bit about html can go a long way.  Google "Html image codes" and you can figure out how to put as many photos in your Craigslist listing as you desire.  You can ever include an image of your business card and all of your designation logos.

Are you getting any serious sales from CraigsList?  I hear a ton of people talking about using CraigsList but I rarely hear about many successful sales from it.  I am hoping to hear from someone who is really making some serious business using Craigslist.

Craig, there's also vflyer - you upload pics, price, and description and it creates the code for craigslist for you.

Hey Craig,

You should try POSTLETS.com, you create one ad in minutes with photos and upload it directly to Craigslist.  I have had great success with submitting my listings with this format.

Debbie- Thanks, I have used Poslets just recently and have to say that this is probably an easier and nicer looking way to post on craigslist!

Glad to see someone mentioned Postlets!  You can create a really nice "Ad" for Craig's List and you also get your "Ad" submitted to websites like Propsmart, Oodle and Edgeio!  It's FREE!!

We share this information with all of our Listing Coordination clients!

Hey Craig. I post to craigslist pretty much everyday. Thanks for sharing. Great post. Best of luck and keep doing what you do.

I post to Craigslist also, using some of the tools the others have mentioned like vflyer, postlets, and others.  So far, I can't say that I've had any results from them, but it will probably help in the google rankings eventually, as they have my name and my website address on them.  I just wonder how many people would look at Craigslist for homes for sale?  There sure are a lot of entries in the Dallas/Fort Worth area every day, but they don't have a very user friendly way of searching for properties.  I think people probably have more success selling furniture and appliances on Craigslist.
