Fantastic Meals - At the Grocery Store?

Was out and about on Monday this week.  (Memorial Day)  All of a sudden the smell of barbeque teri steak and huli huli  chicken filled the air.  I thought to myself, someone is grilling and it is very close.  I was on Nawilwili St. and knew the food court was near in Kukui Grove Market.  So I decided to drive through the shopping center.  There are good restaurants at Kukui Grove!  The smell was coming from Times Market.   A Grocery Store!!

I went up to the cook and was given directions on how I could get some of the grilled steak and huli huli  chicken.  Get this the styrofoam plate was piled with steak and chicken.  Two scoops of rice and a huge green salad and a drink.  $7.99!!

Today - the smell was steak and shrimp!

Aloha!

Bob... sounds like such a delicious meal.  And yes, several of the nicer grocery stores nearby also have food... dinners they actually prepare at the store.  What a great idea.

Wow what a terrible place you must have to live. ;) Tropical paradise with smelly food. I guess someone has to do it.

Caroyln - I have seen places like in Safeway.  Times Market is outside with their grills and from what I have seen and tasted, their concept is working pretty well.

Sherry - There is a price to pay for everything! 8-)

John - It is barbeque chicken Hawaiian style.  Pretty good.  Thought I would give you a link for a recipe.   http://gohawaii.about.com/od/luaurecipes/r/hulihulichicken.htm

Great idea to bring people to an open house. The smell of food is always a draw.

Daniel - The smell definetly got my attention.  If I grilled at an Open House and attracted the people at Times Market buying that would be a success.  (If I sold the property.  A huge expense if not!)
