Every year in September, New Hampshire celebrates "Old Home Day", a New Hampshire tradition. Actually, "Old Home Day" was officially recognized by Proclamation in the New Hampshire State Legislature in 1913. The Governor of New Hampshire in 1899, Frank W. Rollins, was concerned about the decline of the small town and decided that the communities of New Hampshire should set aside a time for residents, both past and present, to re-unite to keep the towns alive. Well, former Governor Rollins' idea was indeed a vision that lives on in this small but growing town.
Many towns throughout New Hampshire including Brookline and Hollis celebrate the "Old Homes Day" with a community celebration!
Real Estate agents enjoy this annual tradition and it's evidence of the fun "live free or die" spirit that New Hampshire residents share.
