Streamlining Your Boot Time | A Freebie For Everyone

By
Real Estate Agent with Christie's International Real Estate

Hi Everybody Bob Says Hi

Summer is almost here and I've come across a cool little program to share with everyone.

I wrote about this last year and the software has been recently updated now to cover more problem solves for your computers.

It can now also lighten your browser add ons as well as analyze your crashes with possible fixes.

Pretty Cool.

Has your computer slowed down to a crawl when you boot up your computer?

Do you often take a coffee break while you are booting your computer?

manwaiting

Well here's a cool little program that can help in your quest for the ever faster and speedier boot/start up time and possibly fix some crashes that come up in your browser no matter which one you use.

Without getting to Geeky, this program will analyze all your programs that start up everytime you start up your computer.

It will show you programs that start up and remain open while your computer is on using up your precious RAM.

Also, it will show you programs that you could possibly disable to give you an even better start up speed.

Of course it also shows you the programs that you simply should not disable because you will need them for your windows operating system.

As far as I know this will not work on Mac's yet.
Sorry bout that..

biting keyboards

It's fully compatible with 64 Bit and XP and any other Windows PC's.

As you can see it's still in Beta so maybe they will get it to work on Mac's as well in the future.

It's Free and we like free!

It's called Soluto
Check out the video below to learn more about it.

When I had Vista, I could run a marathon before the computer was ready for me. Moved to Windows 7 and then to a Mac--both of which seem to have quick boot times.

Bill
- Yes those process buggers can add up quickly once you start customizing your computer. go for it

Robert
- That's the beauty of this program. It simpify's it down to no brainers and other programs that should not be disabled. It's very safe and non techy. It's been in Beta for a year but they keep improving it so it's still a safe download.

Gita - Thank you. give it a shot. No harm will be done to your computer as long as you follow the intuitive instructions that come up after your scan on your system. Good luck and thanks for popping by.

Gabe - Thanks for stopping by. This program is the only one I have found that is so intuitive and easy to use. Good luck not that you'll need it me thinks.

Melissa
- Yes Win7 has a very quick boot time now and that's a good thing but as you customize your puter some things can clutter your boot time eventually. You may be able to shave off some of that time with this tool. Nothing for Macs yet though on this program... Sorry

Bob - Nope Defragging is something completely different but still a good practice to do every few months as files are added and deleted on your computer. This is strictly for booting time speed.

Michael - Thanks. yes it's definitely worth a try. good luck with it.

Jeanne and Ralph
- good luck and thanks for stopping by.

I am helpless when it comes to a problem with the computer in regards to remedies. I know when something is not right, I just don't know what to do after that. I have been eying my boot session when it opens and when I shut it off, it takes its sweet time too. I will check into your suggestion and thank you

Richie - Try this out and if that fails also do a derfrag on your hd. That is something that also can speed up your computer in many ways. If you have any questions feel free to email me and I'll be glad to help you out. What system are you running? As in Windows 7 or XP or even Vista?

Thanks for this Rob.  I always know there are programs running in the background when we boot-up our computers.  I have several, but don't wont to risk deleting them in fear of interrupting my Windows System - that's happened to me before.

But since you mentioned that the program will tell us which programs we should keep going and which ones we can do without, I think I may try this.

MeLisa - No worries with this program. It will tell you which you can stop and what the consequences will be. No harm in trying it. Good luck.

Richie
- Well my first suggestion would be to re-format your hard drive after a full backup of course and install XP.Vista has been problematic since it's inception. But first just try to do a defrag of your HD and see if that helps. If you've never done this before on your computer be prepared for some down time as it can take some time to  do this. Go to start, type in Degrag into the search button and it will bring up the Disk Defragmeter. Click on it and runn it. Try that to see if it helps as well. Good Luck

I just used Norton to do the same thing you mention in this blog. But they don't show you which items need to be running and which ones are safe to get rid of. Thanks for the info.
