F L O W area: Franklin Lakes, Oakland, Wyckoff SHOPPING

Welcome to the FLOW area located in the upper suburban area of Bergen County … 

The acronym for Franklin Lakes, Oakland, Wyckoff … These 3 communities are within minutes to Mid-Town Manhattan, The HUB of the WORLD, The Big Apple … and yet offer lifestyles and conveniences that are second to none.  Today we will focus on:   

Shopping… This can be a real experience with direct access to the Westfield Garden State Plaza, The Shops at Riverside, Bergen Town Center and Paramus Park Mall as well as the renowned Premier Outlet Center in located 25 minutes away in Woodbury Commons, NY.

Getting to any particular mall is really straightforward, since accesses to most major highways in this area are easily reached.  New  Jersey Route 208, runs thru each of these towns and provides the entry points to Interstates and Highways, like Route 4 (which ends at the George Washington Bridge) Route 17 and Route 287.  Route 17 provides the access to Route 3 (to the Lincoln Tunnel) and also to Routes 1 & 9 which ends at the Holland Tunnel as well as the Garden State Parkway, which runs north and south within the state. 

All three towns also feature small, local stores that can usually provide the gifts or last minute accessories that can be purchased without going to a mall.  You can also shop in Ridgewood, which provides the old fashioned shopping that was once the mainstay of American Culture before the birth of the Mall.

In addition to Mall Shopping experiences, each town does feature a Food Shopping Chain store, like Shop Rite (Oakland – a new one to open soon in Wyckoff) and Stop n Shop (one in Franklin Lakes and another in Wyckoff).  Franklin Lakes is also home to the Market Basketwhich is an upscale specialty food market and does off premises catering.  Prescriptions can be filled at the food stores, but Walgreens in Oakland and Wyckoff as well as CVS (which is opened 24/7) is in Wyckoff.  Millers Pharmacy provides all types of home health care needs.
