  1. Do you want to own a home, but prefer to skip the snow removal, leaf blowing and other yard work? 
  2. Do you want access to extra amenities, like a fitness center, swimming pool and clubhouse?
  3. Are you comfortable paying a homeowner’s association fee (which can typically cost $100-$400 per month) for someone else to manage the property?
  4. Are you willing to submit to the rules and regulations for your community, like no swimming after 10:00 p.m.?

You are right...I think that condo ownership is the right move for a lot of people.  Buyers need to make sure that the building that they are buying into is financially sound and has a very high ratio of owner occupieds.  Here in San Diego, some of the more desireable buildings have HOA dues that would constitute mortgage payments on houses in most parts of the country--its getting pretty insane!
