Everyone,
Sorry for the delay in posting the Technology Update for June 3. The highlights from this week are:
- We continue to increase the stability of ActiveRain and the underlying infrastructure to minimize downtime
- We have enhanced monitoring of ActiveRain to proactively detect & resolve issues quicker by implementing Gomez alerts rather than the previous New Relic alerts. Now we are able to quickly see when there are load issues or node failures. This enables us to respond much faster than before,
- We continue to optimize the performance of the database which has caused some of the problems we have seen in the past.
One notice: Rackspace will be doing regular maintenance starting on June 15th, 2011 at from 12AM EST to 7AM EST. There should not be a service interruption. Our team will be standing by to monitor and respond to any issues as they arise. We will be posting a reminder on the "In the Loop" blog to remind the community. But, it would be a good idea to get any work done ahead of time and then to save to draft often if you happen to be working during this time.
Finally our technology lead Chris Paredes went to New York City this past week and spent time with Craig Daniels. Click here to read Craig's blog about their meeting.
