I remember a time when I was young that I would get nothing short of mad when a "telethon" took over my television schedule.  This weekend was different.

Time, maturity, a child in my life with major health issues.... or a combination of all of them.  But this weekend not only did I spend lots of time watching the telethon, I put my money where my mouth is so to speak.

I lost a loved one on Thursday.  I have attempted a couple of times to write a blog about that, but I'm just not ready yet.  I didn't send flowers, that's just not me, but what I did instead was make my donation to The Children's Hospital at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in memory of Randy Lankford.

If you are centeral Georgia I urge you to do the same, make a donation.  If perhaps you are in another state Google children's hospital in you area and make a donation.  After all, children are our future.

Tammy, I am so sorry about your loss. You must be reeling specially if Randy was on the younger side. I too set aside a sum of money every year and donate to childrens cancer societies. Hope times soothes the immediate pain.

Maya- he was 45, and I don't question that it was his time to go, but I'm saddened.  I chose the children's hospital donation in his memory because it felt right to me today.    And thank you for your kind words.  Time will help.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, but you have provided a wonderful testimonial for Children's Hospitals.  Both of my girls were primi's and were 'graduates' of the neo-natal intensive care nursery at Phoenix Children's Hospital -- a wonderful health care facility.

Good for you on the donation. You have certainly had your fair share of challenges recently. Thinking of you and praying for you.

Mona- I certainly need a break from funeral homes no doubt.

Teral- He would be happy to kow that he could help a child.

Eric- I'm sure all parents feel that way.  Takes a very special person to work in a children's hospital.

Roger- Flowers fad and helping a child get well will last a bit longer.

Cal- I keep telling myself it will get better.

Dorie- thank you and I think he'd want it that way.

Susan- I'm reaching for that peace.

Tammy- sorry to hear of your loss. I made a donation out of the clear blue to the Children's Hospital on Saturday. Maybe in some way it was my conscience thinking of you : )
