49 Comments on QR Codes, Q-Tips and Qi... What do these things have in common?
Nick - I think the code that brings you to a Google search is an OK idea. But I truly think you need to bring them directly to your web site or to a specific property if you want better results. Go check out Larry Story's blog about using Google QR codes. They're trackable and you can see how effective they are.
Ai is only worth 2 points my friend. Qi is worth 11! I'll stick with mine! Or just as good, I'll go with this for 11 points too...
Craig Rutman, you have an amazing knack for entertaining, playing and educating all at the same time!
Craig ~ I think Amy, comment # 10 has the best QR code color, green, and the link is great too...Is a QR code like a hyper link??
As always I am way behind everyone else! I will get my QR code soon
How could anyone resist that postcard? Your phone must be ringing off the hook, I mean your QR code must be buzzing hopping zapping ahhh...not sure what it does.
Quite quirky of you to come up with a U-less Q-word, Craig! When, do you suppose, will QR become an actual word, so that we have a Q-word with no vowel?
Hi Craig - QR codes are not yet very common in my area, although I am starting to see them more and more.
Laura - I missed the memo that said learning can't be fun! I've always felt that the message is absorbed better when it becomes fun rather than a chore.
Frank & Karen - Amy did a wonderful job. I had to call her to let her know that she had me laughing. QR Codes ARE a hyperlink. But unlike your typical hyperlink that you click on, QR codes you have to scan with one of the many free programs available for smartphones.
Nevin -Just call me if you need any help or ideas on this one Nevin. Fast, FREE, and something you NEEED to be doing.
Shar - Ha! Ha! Ha! That's pretty funny stuff there Shar.
Liz - I'm not so sure QR eill ever become a word as it's an abbreviation for Quick Response. But who would have ever thought that just "google" it would have become a verb tense to look on the internet for something.
Marc - Be on the cutting edge my friend. They're here to stay.
Craig, The "genius" in your marketing can only be compared to another Q word ~ Quantum!
Larry & Sheila - Hmmm. I think I'll take that leap! Thank you!
I have created QR codes for all our listings, but have yet to implement using them. And if I don't have a Q-Tip for after a shower it drives me bananas! I love Scrabble and would love a formidable competitor such as yourself.
Lynda - Oh, I'm fit to be tied if I don't have a Q-tip after a shower! Looking forward to the big Scrabble Challenge with you someday. And back to QR codes.... Go to your local sign place and have them make you up magnets for your QR codes. It's not expensive and you just might see some extra traffic on your web site. Or better yet, an offer on your listing!
Craig,
Very good and hopefully you have created them so that you can track and use Google Analytics to measure your success with them.
Larry - I learned about the Google QR code from you my friend. And, for that, I can't thank you enough. Being able to track the effectiveness is what this marketing thing is all about.
Craig, Active Zillow Brad showed me how to spruce it up
Endre - Brad is a wealth of knowledge. If it wasn't for Brad, I probably wouldn't even be as involved on AR as I am today.
I use Photoshop to spruce up my QR codes. But I'm liking what you've done with yours my friend.
You had me at Qi - my daughter got me on that one at Scrabble recently. :)
Virgina - Now get her back with the Za! It throws them every time!
Great post, Craig, worth more than 11 points. Now I am going to look up Qi and Za as I used to be a Scrabble fanatic! Gave it up when I got into real estate.
Mary - Thank you Mary! And you should never give up Scrabble! It's good for the brain!
