Its about time!

We are the only city that I know, that does not have an MLS system to help facilitate buyers who wish to purchase Manhattan apts of lofts in NYC.

For years, buyers have had to go from website to website, piece mealing their search; which probably makes them wonder how this first class city can be left in the dark ages. My take on this is-- the Big Boys wanted to keep everything to themselves since there is so much potential to make big money.   The more closed off that process can be, the better for them.

Well, no more!   It was just recently announced that the Real Estate Board of NY will have a tie in with NY 1's website, offering all the property listings that are submitted to the board.

I knew it would only be a matter of time.  My listings search on my website, www.buyandsellmanhattan.com has had a tie in with the board since the beginning of the year.  But-- this is the first time I have seen it go "public".  This is great news to consumers.

The sooner we have more transparency in this industry; especially in this city, the better we will be able to weed out sketchy agents and their unethical practices.  Hopefully this will alleviate my frustration with these open sites where I have seen agents blatantly lie, and have had to tactfully call them out on it.   Opening up these listings to the general public will hopefully eliminate the posting of fake ads and minimize fraudulent activity.  It will be a breath of fresh air to have the general public have a database that is accurate and updated hourly.

I am proud to say that my listings search database is tied to the board and retains the same level of quality and integrity I demand; and has been available since the beginning of the year to the public.
