Shhhh! This Is Not For Everyone.

As I read articles on the economy and housing and unemployment, I get more than a little depressed. Last week I read down 62% of homeowners are not making the updates to their property because they do not see a return. Then I look around and see this is not totally true. They are plenty of folks nationwide making improvements like kitchen and bath updates, garage organization and even closet organization. This is not a commercial for anyone but a fact of what is happening. Where and Who is making it happen? A company that refuses to listen to the depressing news and keeps on keeping on. A company probably not many have heard of unless you shop your local Home Depot. The company is US Remodelers, who have partnered with Home Depot for in home installation of Refacing Kitchen Cabinets, Counter Tops, and of course Home Depot has a wide selection of appliances to go with the new and improved kitchen look. US Remodelers refaces old ugly tubs and showers. And they haven't forgot folks love to be organized and have custom organization systems for both closets and garage. This is a company that forges ahead and doesn't listen to the doom and gloom around us. It is working for both them and Home Depot. A recent report from Home Depot attributes their increase in sales to US Remodelers and their refacing programs.

Last year the gods of US Remodelers foreseeing a void they could fill created Facelifters. It was for the DIY folks, who rather do it themselves with a little help from there freinds. Facelifters is a DIY program for kitchen and bath refacing. Facelifters created a virtual kitchen program that the DIY folks can design their kitchen before going to their local Home Depot. The customer goes to their local Home Depot with the exsisting door measurements and then selects the style doors, thermo, wood, metel they would like. All doors may be bored for hinges and hinges are included in the price. DIY folks can replace their old worn out drawer boxes with either plywood or dovetailed drawer boxes that includes the slides.

So the moral of this blog is, there is good things going on in this nation. There is companies growing, and hiring. Debbie Gartner of Westchester Flooring, you know, "We bring the store to your door", her company is growing and last week she was looking to hire installers.  Homeowners are still making home improvements and have pride of ownership. This is just one small example, I am sure you can come up with many more.

Linda, I think many people are making updates right now instead of buying a newer home! I guess it depends on the area - new construction is picking up some here.

Lynda - Thank you for your insight. This is what I see but the news and articles that have been posting haven't been so positive. I believe folks need a positive outlook and the knowledge that things are happening. We have two great new construction projects right here in Parkland. Have a great evening and thank you so much for dropping by, always great to see you:)
