First off, I do them part-time on days when I don't want to spend an hour getting all dolled up to work with clients. I work BPOs in Central Texas. I normally wear my fishing clothes or some sort of hunting costume when I go BPOing. Economic times are tough. Getting a bunch of little bitty checks in the mail for doing drive bys can be relaxing and a good way to spend the day... not thinking about California clients. So I am helping the banks, with honest gopher work. I guess there are worse ways of making a few hundred dollars on any given day.
Number Two. I know a little more about homes than some Realtors so maybe it is a little easier for me as I approach being a senior citizen next decade. After 17 years in the real estate business, I have paid some of my dues, working as an estimator for home improvement type companies and roofing companies. So I have worked hard to develop a keen eye for damage on roofs, windows, gutters, fences, and garage doors.
Number Three. I know after doing 3 years of BPOs that the banks want to dump these properties. They should put that on their front door. It shoud say, BANK OF AMERICA...WE DUMP MORE PROPERTIES THAN ANY BANK IN THE ENTIRE WESTERN HEMISPHERE....and then something like....COME IN..,WE CAN FIND A REALTOR TO DUMP YOURS.
Number Four. I know Realtors that are making good money doing BPOs. They come to my MCE Workshops (see www.realtorwarriors.com) and they are kinda quiet and don't say much. Not much bragging from those guys.... no real estate awards night to attend. These ladies and gentlemen walk around like they know some big secret and then they all seem to have the same goofy grin that says, 'I"m kinda happy about stuff.' They see the writing on the wall for the Fall of 2011 just like me.
