Things An Agent Doesn't Like Hearing

By
Real Estate Agent with Exit Realty Enterprises

When I first began doing sales, the word I hated hearing the most was "NO" when I asked someone for business.  It wasn't fun standing there without something to follow up from that response, particularly when it was given with a cold tone.  While I still don't like it, I'm more comfortable accepting it, along with shifting the conversation in a different direction or, more importantly, leaving open the possibility for future consideration.

                                                    NO

Years have passed and I find that I now hate hearing how people I know have aligned themselves with other realtors instead of me when they need the services of an agent.  I also don't like hearing sellers justify why they shouldn't adjust their asking price because their house is special and can command such a price.  Or how about the buyer who feels they're right to offer 15 percent below asking price - "It's the market; why wouldn't the seller consider it?"

Despite some of the things I don't want to hear, there many things that occur that far outweigh the crazy things people feel too comfortable telling us.

And you?... What are some of the things you'd rather not hear?

"No" just make it more of a challenge. It's great to turn a no into a yes.
