I am always out and about town....I have blogged about a couple local businesses in my area and the Business Owners are so thrilled !!  They want to know what they can do for me !!  I do it because it's fun and not looking to make anything out of it...

I wrote a blog on fudge that I absolutely love.  I pick up a little piece of fudge from a cute little bakery in Roanoke, Texas everytime I have my hair done.  It's a special treat that I do when I want to cheat on my diet.....The next time I was having my hair done the owner of the fudge place came running into the Hair Salon to thank me for writing about her business !!  Her business has picked up !!  Her fudge is to die for !!

I just wrote a blog on my Boot Camp class and the instructor, Chuck Jordan.  He was so thankful !!  Chuck is awesome, good hearted and makes working out fun....I just wanted to let the community know what my experience has been while in his class....I really lost 10 pounds in one week.  His diet and exercise program really works.

Blogging about your community helps the Real Estate Market in your area.  You are essentially selling your community.

The moral of the story....When you make other folks look good and feel good, they want to return the favor...It's a great opportunity to give them a bunch of your business cards.

Lauren, you are so right that we aren't just selling houses, we're selling our community.  Every time we blog about (or share in other ways) our favorite places in our community, we're showing people why they want to live there, and buy homes there.

AMEN, how can you sell a home in a community if you can't brag about the businesses around time.

Great post......most of my posts are on localism as our area has so much to offer and most people don't have a clue....

You know I am wondering if you would have needed Chuck's classes if you had not eaten the fudge.....lol

Lauren - I just started a local blog, and one of my first posts was about a local title company that waives all fees for active duty military.  Next stop - a local florist.  You're right, this has to be a popular blog post for localism or a local blog.

Margaret- That is an awesome program that your local Title Company has in place for people in the military !!  I find it fun to write blogs on local businesses so that the blog populates into localism...It's great marketing for the business, it helps attract Buyers to your community and it helps us....Have fun with your blog on your local florist !!

John- Thank you for your response.  It is rewarding.
