You are not a blogger.

Sell real estate and stop wasting time.Writing a blog

Leave writing to people who have something to say.

People don't care what you are thinking and surely won't take time from their busy day to read your simple thoughts.

That was me about 6 months ago.

Not a blogger. Not a writer.

But things change.

Early on the morning of November 26, 2010 I was laying in bed with an idea bouncing around my head. I wanted to get it OUT and my first thought was to blog about it. I'd never done this before, but thought it would be fun. An agent had mentioned ActiveRain so I figured that is a good place to try.

My first attempt at blogging ("I Hate You, Therefore I Will Read You") became a Featured Blog and was the tops on that day's Daily Drop email! (at the time I had no idea what any of that meant... I just couldn't believe that so many people were responding to my little blog!)

It absolutly was NOT a goal to be ready by thousands people and have such great comments! I just wanted to toss a stone in the water and see what the ripples looked like.

Am I a blogger now? Sure, why not?

Am I great at it?... no, but that's not the point. I'm finding it a great outlet to get my thoughts out of my head and see what other people have to say about them. It's amazing how a little seed of a thought can grow into such an interesting blog, IF YOU LET GIVE IT THE CHANCE!

I wonder how many people reading this right now are thinking like I did a few months ago? I wonder if this could inspire someone to write their first blog and take that leap? Do you have the guts?

Let me thank this community for inspiring me to keep writing, just to see what you're thinking. Thanks for giving me a place to think, react and engage. It's been fun getting to know so many of you, away from this website!

So are YOU a blogger? A lurker? A creator? Stop wondering and just go do it.

Jay, that totally makes sense to me. My first "blog" was put out Dec 1st and was also featured (though I really don't know why).

I thought just as you did also!  And, YES, you ARE a good blogger!  When you think about writing about everything that you do, touch, see, hear, smell...you know you've been aflicted!

Jay, there's a powerful dose of inspiration here in your post today. It's easy to see why it's a featured post as well. Just do it!

I'm kind of like you were - lots of thoughts bouncing around.  Some are even ideas on pieces of scrap paper.  I even went to Rain Camp a couple of weeks ago and became a Rainmaker(?). But I'm still a lurker.  Maybe tomorrow I'll start a blog. Or the next day.  It's scary and I don't know why!

A very inspiring post. Just blog. It's that simple. That's what I do. I don't think my blogs have made any big impact (I've never been featured), but we are definately seeing the improvements in Google juice, so our goal is met.

I do not consider myself as a blogger, but I guess that I am. WHat I am not is a lurker (and I acutally know what that means).

I asked some agents from my office what they thought of blogging while we were on property tour this week. They were all very strongly in the "what is the point/I would never blog/never heard of AR" camp. I just listened and learned a lot. I learned that we all have a different plan for how to grow and run our business. I can't IMAGINE not blogging. I'm on my site, on FB, on AR, on Trulia all the time putting out a TON of content. I know it makes a difference and the more and the longer you do it the BIGGER the difference.
