I have come up with some important questions to use or ask when interviewing a REALTOR®. And I have mentioned that I am going to answer every one of them, in blog format, because I have a lot to say about most of them. So check in regularly for the answers!

Question 14. What other homes can you show / sell me?

Short answer, any and all homes!

I can sell you any home, it doesn’t matter if the home listed on the MLS, with a builder, or a for sale by owner (FSBO’s or unreprestented sellers). If it is in the paper, down the street, or on the internet; if you decide you want to build or buy resale, you can and should have your own representation for any and all of them. I would not recomment not have representation or using the sellers agent…

I have worked with a few builders, and they love having me on board. I am with my clients every set of the way, from beginning to end. I am a sounding board, and extra pair of eyes, and a support person. I see homes everyday, and with that I have come learn what is important for resale, and will help your investment. I can and do bring my expeience to the table to help my buyers. One client whom I had work with, originally thought they didn’t need a REALTOR® to assist them through the process, but after talking to me decided it was a great idea. They have now taken possession and would advice that everyone have a REALTOR® and they would not ever considering building again without me.
FSBO’s (for sale by owners). All they want to do is save a buck or two. What they don’t realize, is that it won’t work that way (most of the time). In the end, they just want to sell their home… And I can help. I have done many deals with “for sale by owners” and I have been paid full commissions. Now, keep in mind, these sellers have usually posted “Not working with Agents, No Agents” etc, but that didn’t stop me. I have had buyers who wanted to buy a home, that just happened to be listed by a seller not with an agent, and I have successful helped them to purchase that home. In the end, my buyers bought, the “For sale by Owners” sold, the deal came together without any major hang-ups (because there was a REALTOR® involved) and I got paid.

So, buyers, when you find a home… call your REALTOR® with the information and let them do the work for you. After all, that is why you have hired them in the first place, right?
