Entrance to Burt Gillete Little-League Baseball Stadium

I attended my neighbor's Little League game last night at Burt Gillette Park.  It was a tournament playoff game and it was being played on the grandstand ball field. That was great for us fans because that meant we were in the shade and it was still very warm last night at 6 pm!  (There are three other ball fields that don't have covered bleachers.)

As I sat there with my friend and watched her grandson play, she remarked what a great facility this is.  It caused me to pause and compare it to the minor league baseball stadiums in the area and I realized that it is as nice or nicer than those facilities.  How many towns of less than 50,000 people have built a multimillion dollar soccer and baseball complex equaled to Wilson's?  We've already hosted tournaments for the entire Southeast!

Wilson is a very civic-minded community and has leadership with foresight.  We now have one of the best fiber-optic networks in the country developed by the city utility.  The city also had the foresight to build a water reservoir that gives us an adequate water supply for now and many years into the future -- it makes me glad to live in Wilson every time Raleigh has to go on strict water conservation.

If you are thinking about relocating to Eastern NC, give Wilson a look and me a call-- especially if you have a kid who loves to play baseball!

That has to be the nicest Little League stadium I've ever seen. Out here we use our public baseball fields which look just exactly like public baseball fields. LOL

Thanks Jim, that's nice to hear.  They are hoping that we might get selected to host the National tournament now that we have this facility.  We just had a girls softball team win the 14-16 age bracket at the Babe Ruth National tournament in Colorado.  I probably should write something about that.  I am just getting my feet wet with the blogging and had subscribed to you because I thought you had done a good job and I could learn more by studying what you had done -- keep up the good work!

Anne - With a Rainmaker account you are really missing out on a lot of Google juice by not blogging regularly. Also, the more points you get, the lower your monthly bill is for that Rainmaker account. Once you get to 500,000 points, it's free!

Thanks for the info and encouragement Jim!  I have been really discouraged by the real estate market here and questioning whether I wanted to continue in the business.  I have felt a little better lately and mainly because of your prodding, I wrote another blog entry today!  Thank you!
