We moved recently--just across town. I am a super organized person and prior to the move, I contacted all utilites, friends, movers, everyone that is remotely involved with my move..I planned well in advance--as I do for most things in my life!
I packed, planned, sold things in advance, lots of cleaning out and letting go of things!
We have been in our new home about 7 weeks. Today our dog, Charlie had an appt. at the vet and all of a sudden it hit me...I had not changed his records on his microchip. So if he had become lost or somehow gotton away from us at our new location and was found--all of that contact information would not have gotton him returned to us.
So I had him scanned at the vet to confirm the chip number and they gave me the website and telephone number of the service so that I could update his records! He loves his new home but it is still a "new" place for him.
Maybe most people would not have forgotton to do this but somehow I did--but for sure I will not again! This was our first move since we have had a dog!
