Father Brown Danced On My Umbrella 2 Times Before 7

What am I talking about, you ask?  PASSWORDS! The above sentence is an example of what your

password might be. It's   called a "strong password". The actual password would be:

?FBDomu2Tb7*

I found these are the top 20 most common passwords

Debbie Atwood Is Making A Splash In Snohomish County!

1. 123456

2. 12345

3. 123456789

4. password

5. iloveyou

6. princess

7. rockyou

8. 1234567

9. 12345678

10. abc123

11. Nicole

12. Daniel

13. babygirl

14. monkey

15. Jessica

16. lovely

17. michael

18. Ashley

19. 654321

20. Qwerty

So how do you create a "strong password"?

It is recommended to come up with a sentence of at least 10 words or more.  A sentence that has meaning to you would be perfect since you have to remember the password!  If not, it's okay to write it down and keep in a safe place.

Father Brown Danced On My Umbrella 2 Times Before 7, is my example.

Next - Use the fist letter of each word = fbdomu2tb7

Next - Capatalize up to half of the letters = FBDomU2Tb7

Next - If your sentence does not include any numbers add a couple of numbers that mean something to you at the end of the password.

Next - Add a couple of characters to add to the strength of the password = ?FBDomU2Tb7*

Voila!  You have created a strong password!  Don't forget to be covert with your password!

Use a password checker to test the strength of your personal password.  It is recommended to use different passwords, as in, not the same password for multiple sites.

Hope this helps to keep you safe!

I'm so glad you posted this Debbie. I always wondered how to remember passwords. Now I know, it's as simple as can be.

What a clever way to create passwords that are easy to remember but difficult for others to crack!

Oh boy.  This is way too complicated for me.  I am guilty of using the same password for almost everything.  Crazy, but I don't always have access to the list of my passwords.  This is clever though.

Debbie I have been doing this since 2002.  It drives my daughter crazy when I have to occassionally ask her to access something for me.   Drives her completely nuts.  I love it.

Paul I thought so too and it was actually kind of fun  :)

Jane I admit I was guilty of that too but I'm trying to change my ways

Charita Really?  Good for you!  I'm late but better than never!
