The Eden Center - Falls Church, VA

If you've never been to Eden Center, located in Falls Church, Virginia, you should visit soon. This vibrant Vietnamese shopping center has been founded over 40 years ago, and offers close to 120 stores. 

One of the most characteristic features, the Eden Center Clock Tower, is an exact replica of downtown Saigon. It was built as a reminder of the home for the thousands of immigrants who settled in the Washington DC area after the Vietnam War ended in 1975.

Today, the Eden Center is the largest Vietnamese-American Community on the East Coast. Eden Center continues to  grow and support Asian community. Among events organized by the Eden Center community are annual Tet Festival (the Vietnamese Lunar New Year) and Moon Festival (Mid-Autumn).

This is a place where you can spend the whole afternoon, shopping and tasting delcious foods. There are cafes, bakeries, grocery stores, electronics shops, beauty and hair salons, jewlery stores, over thirty restaurants, and other delightful stores. For more information on the Eden Center, click here.

Hello Elizabeth,

I hope you're feeling well and happy.  I imagine school is starting soon for your children, so you're probably busy getting everything ready for that.  I was hoping you'd come out here with your daughter to scout out the Stanford campus.  Please let me know if you do, I'd like to help any way possible.  I'm serious about picking you up at the airport or doing whatever will make the trip easier and more pleasant and fun for both of you.

Has you daughter expressed interest in any particular field?  I know she may be young for that.  Stanford has many excellent departments, as you may know. 

I hope your son's broken ankle has healed.  I'm sure both of you do, too.

My son, who was living in a great condo in the Marina district of San Francisco (with a slice of a view of the SF Bay), has moved to LA.  He's living in a friend's house in Venice Beach on a canal (which is really what he likes) and plans to rent out his SF condo.  He's still with Oracle Corp., but got new corporate accounts in LA plus he'll now have to travel, which he didn't have to when he was in SF.  I don't know if it's permanent or temporary, but I prefer him up here.  He likes the beach life style which is fine, except he's 40, not 25.  We'll see.  More later, I hope.  In the meantime, be happy, don't worry.
