Is this well spent real estate?

Sometimes I feel that living in San Francisco bay area is like living as a rat. Too many people, too little houses, too much money to buy a house. New York is even worse. My friends can’t even turn around without bumping into each other in their tiny kitchens. Hmm. So I came across this on the web today… Is this really land well spent?

Wow! Cindy, that is amazing. I know what you mean about SF. I lived there before I moved to Nashville almost 10 years ago. Nashville is definitely more my speed - lots of land, slower paced life, sweet tea, and manners like I had never seen before.

Yeah I used to be really into city living, after all I grew up in an urban city. But I am tired of circling around looking for parking..

Ummmmmm, given the onset of global warming and the real possibility of a water shortage in the future, I'm thinking I wouldn't invest in that.  Its interesting though and I wonder how it will look as desert :-)

In a country like Chile, tourist dollars may be the only dependable dollars. If something like this was built in a developed country I'd be appalled, but in a cash strapped country I have different standards. If this construction attracts international tourists to Chile, it could represent money well spent.

Thanks for showing the pictures of my home!  LOL -  That is crazy.  Maybe over time, they will find out that they would be better served with using that land for more hotels, restaurants, etc.  Or maybe there is just an abundance of unused, undeveloped, inexpensive beachfront there.
