You Talk to Your Kids About Safety, But How About Your Home?
Many parents go through Halloween safety tips with their children before they head out for a candy-filled evening of tricks or treats, but never take a moment to think about their own home's safety. Take a moment to consider these couple things before celebrating the spooky holiday.
Extra Home Owners Insurance is a big thing that many people never even consider. If you are hosting a party or have extensive decorations that may draw a crowd, an injury on your property would be a quick way to spoil everyone's fun. Take a moment to contact your insurance agent and have a discussion about your insurance coverage. Extra coverage for one night is an inexpensive way to sleep easy at night.
Pull your vehicles into the garage as there will be a lot of extra traffic that night. Mini vans carting around loads of hungry ghosts and goblins, and packs of scary creatures on foot, will fill the roads and may be distracted with all of the activity and candy.
Some yard items can trip up ghostly visitors, but are easy for us to forget about because we see them everyday - just because we know those items are there doesn't mean visitors will, especially in the dark. Take a moment to double-check your yard for items like that rolled up hose or flower pots near walkways.
